A long awaited update

I figured I'd post another blog after a 10 month absence, I know, it's been a while. Kaleb will be 16 months in 4 days and is in to EVERYTHING! He's such a goofy boy and loves to give hugs and kisses. Daddy is convinced he needs a little brother or sister to play with... we'll see hahaha :) Here are some pictures from the last couple of months!

My new favorite things

Kaleb is turning into such a big boy! He can now sit all by himself and is working on crawling. He gets his knees under his belly, but doesn't quite have the arm movements down. He mastered rolling over about a month and a half ago and doesn't stop, so I definitely have my hands full!
Here are a few of my new favorite things!

4 1/2 months old!

Today Kaleb had his 4 month check up and the doctor was very impressed with his growth and development. He's still a big boy and growing like a weed! He was 20 lbs 9 oz and 26 1/4 inches long! His weight is off the curve (hehehe) and his height is up there. Kaleb thought it would be funny to pee on the doctor when she was checking his hips and legs :) Definitely Dave's boy!

2 weeks ago Kaleb had his first taste of baby food (besides rice cereal) and he's loving it! As of right now sweet potatoes are his favorite!

My 1st trip to Renton!

This weekend was Kaleb's first trip to visit his Aunties and Uncles in Renton. It was a weekend full of 1st's! Daddy's first birthday with Kaleb here, 1st time eating rice cereal, 1st time over the pass and much more! Rice cereal is a new favorite for mommy, daddy and Kaleb! He sleeps all the way through the night now!

2 months!

Today Kaleb had his 2 month check up and he's definitely a big boy! He's 15 lbs 14 oz and is 23 3/4 inches. He didn't like his shots (can't blame him) but a couple minutes later he was smiling and talking again. He's about to take his first trip to visit his aunts and uncles in Renton this weekend! Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks!

Kaleb Maddox Lane

Kaleb is here! He was born on November 14th via c-section (rough day and long story) at 11:33 pm weighing 8 lbs 4 1/2 oz and 19 3/4 in. I went to the hospital Wednesday morning to be induced because I was a week overdue. I was given a pill to put under my tongue to start contractions and the nurses warned me that it might not work. Well it worked that day and they kept me overnight, but the next morning when I woke up my contractions had stopped. I was given another dose and nothing happened so I went home. Later that night I started getting really strong contractions so I went to the hospital and shortly after arriving my water broke. The next day I was on pitocin and things were looking good until the contractions got to be too much. I finally asked for an epidural, but had to wait because all of the birthing rooms were full and they were busy. When I finally got my epidural I was excited that I was going to be comfortable and pain free! That wasn't the case, I had a window in my back that blocked the pain killers.

When it was time to start pushing (sometime late that night) I was happy the end of this labor was near. After a while Kaleb's hear rate was dropping with every contraction. The doctor said that his face was facing the ceiling instead of the floor like they wanted to I switched positions to see if we could get him to turn. He ended up turning halfway, but his head wasn't fitting, it was just getting crunched. He got down far enough to where you could see his head, but he wasn't coming out. Finally after about 3 hours of pushing I begged for a c-section because I was in so much pain and we weren't getting anywhere and I was worried about the baby.

After 25 hours of labor Kaleb finally arrived! When the doctors were getting Kaleb out during the c-section we found out that his umbilical cord was wrapped around his little body 3 times. My doctor told me that he wasn't going to come out naturally because of it, and that I would have had to get a c-section anyways.

Well it's been a month now and everyone is doing great! Kaleb has gained almost 4 pounds! Here are some pictures from the last month!
